Rwandair Will Soon Fly to Belgium-Mushikiwabo

National carrier Rwandair is to launch flights to Belgium -Europe’s central flight route,later this month, Foreign Minister Louise Mushikiwabo announced today.

“RwandAir will soon fly to Belgium,” Rwanda Embassy in Sweden tweeted quoting Minister Mushikiwabo who announced the new RwandAir flight route today while addressing Rwandans at Rwanda Day event ongoing in Brussels, Belgium.

This last months of May, the national carrier launched three weekly flights to London Gatwick International Airport, in the United Kingdom. The London route is served by a new Airbus A330-200 offering travellers Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class travel. Flights depart London Gatwick on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with a flight time of just 8 hours 40 minutes and return fares starting from £368.

London, one of the world’s leading financial centers became RwandAir’s first European and second long haul route.

The destination is served by the newly acquired state of the art Airbus A330 fleet in a triple class configuration with inflight connectivity.

With the new route to Brussels, Belgium, this marks RwandAir’s long project to spread its wings across Europe.

“Rwandair will touchdown in Belgium no later than a month from now,” Mushikiwabo told Rwandans in Brussels.

The airline has signed a code share agreement with Brussels Airlines and Turkish Airlines. Flights are operated by Brussels Airlines (Kigali Brussels) and Turkish Airlines (Kigali Istanbul), but under RwandAir flights numbers. It provides a greater access in Europe to the RwandAir customers.

The national carrier already announced its flights to Mumbai, India and Harare in Zimbabwe – bringing it to twenty two destinations.

In the third quarter of 2017, RwandAir is expected to spread its wings to Bamako (Mali), Conakry (Guinea) and Dakar (Senegal). Later this year, RwandAir’s ever growing network will spread to Guangzhou (China). In 2018, RwandAir is targeting the American market and will fly to New York (U.S.A).
