RwandAir Offers 10% Discount to Ubumuntu Arts Festival Delegates

The Ubumuntu Arts Festival takes place at an beautiful Amphitheatre at Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.

Rwanda’s national carrier- RwandAir has offered a 10 per cent discount to delegates attending the third edition of Ubumuntu Art Festival in Kigali.

The discount, according to Rwandair is designed to facilitate Nigerians and Kenyans as part of sponsorship package for the event.

“Don’t miss out on this year’s Ubumuntu arts festival taking place next month (July). A 10% discount is offered to all participants from Nigeria and Kenya” rwandair said on Twitter.

Cheap flights from Lagos to Kigali to cost about $545 while Nairobi to Kigali cost about $270.

“Thank you Rwandair for taking me from Abidjan, your flight prices to the sub regions are the best I have seen so far” Paola Audrey, one of the West African passengers said on Twitter.

Ubumuntu, ‘Being Human’, is an annual festival aimed at creating an avenue where people from different walks of life can come together and speak to each other in the language of Art.

At least 15 countries including United States, Belgium, South Africa, UK; Burundi, Uganda, DRC; Iraq, Kenya, Sweden, Lebanon, Nigeria; Czech Republic, India and Rwanda – the host will take part this year.

Artists from Nigeria will be participating for the first time giving the audience a live testimony of the kidnapping of the Chibok Girls-.

On the night of 14–15 April 2014, 276 female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria

A Chibok girl survivor of the kidnap will join Nigerian famous artists to perform “The Chibok Girls: Our Story” during the festival scheduled to take place between July 14-16 at Kigali Genocide memorial Centre, in Gisozi.

Event organizers expect participants to walk away with lessons on real challenges of the community today.
