The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Agnes Kalibata has said that Rwanda is ready to host the 2013 AgriBusiness Forum due to take place in Kigali from October 6th to 09th, 2013,  at Serena Hotel.

This will be the first ever forum to be hosted by Rwanda under the theme: “The Agri-Food Sector: A Catalyst for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in Africa.”

The event is being organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) in conjunction with European Marketing Research Center International (EMRC) and the Private Sector Federation (PSF).

Dr. Kalibata says that the forum will be an opportunity for Rwanda to showcase its strategies and a panel to discuss a wide range of issues from production, value addition, capacity building, processing, export, to all kinds of other businesses in order to transform agriculture.

Dr. Ndambe Nzaramba the Deputy Director General of NAEB says the forum will also create business links for stakeholders in agri-business especially financial institutions, manufactures, traders and the donor community, who will participate.

The event is expected to spark off developmental initiatives in the East African region and bringing the private sector on board to ensure sustainable growth and development in agriculture.

Officials of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB),   say the forum will be an occasion to showcase Rwanda’s business environment in order to attract potential investors to venture into agriculture sector.
