Rwanda | Investment news round-up: Kigali skyline to get Rwf 60B boost

A number of businesses have been served with notice to vacate as the strip of prime-time real estate in the heart of Kigali City is set to undergo a major facelift.

Akagera Motors, SECAM and BENALCO, are among the businesses that have until August 25th to relocate to pave way for the construction of a state-of-the-art Rwf60 billion complex, according to city officials .

The “Nyarurembo Project” features a collaboration of five developers. Some of the developers are among those expected to clear out.

Kigali City vice mayor in charge of Finance and Economic Development, Alphonse Nizeyimana, while speaking to reporters the move is part of a phased approach to the implementation of the city master plan, especially in the central business district.
