Rwanda cuts fuel prices

Rwanda’s Ministry of Trade and Industry announced new pump prices for petroleum products, putting all diesel and petrol prices at a single fixed price Rwf920.

The statement released on June 30, also said that no gas station dealer is allowed to charge more than the new fixed price.

The statement said that the reduction in pump prices comes after a reduction in global fuel prices noticed in the month of August 2015. Rwanda faced the hit of increase in global fuel prices mid this year when demand for fuel was pushed by the high demand in peak seasons in Europe, and Asia.
