Rwanda is showcasing its tourism and investment potential at the prestigious tourism fair, the VAKANTIEBEURS, taking place in Utrecht-Netherlands.
Organisers of the event, VNU Exhibitions Europe, say the Netherlands is a nation of inquisitive travellers, and on average spend a lot of time and money on holiday, recreation and relaxation.
The Vakantiebeurs is a platform by and for the travel industry expected to attract over 125,000 very interested visitors including about 20,000 professionals.
According to the Rwanda embassy in the Netherlands, the platform offers an opportunity for the country to inspire this audience with the Remarkable Rwanda tourism products.
“From January 12-17, we intend to have a Rwanda stand that will be used by RDB, the Embassy and Rwandan tour operators to showcase tourism in Rwanda, Rwandan culture and dancers, publicity for Rwandan coffee and tea as well as tourism investment opportunities in Rwanda,” Rwanda embassy official in the Netherlands told Rwanda Eye.
Rwanda will be showcased as a diverse destination for adventure, culture, unrivaled beauty and focus is the promotion of Akagera National Park and Nyungwe National Park as a destination.
The Canopy Walk in Nyungwe National Park and the Nyungwe Forest Eco-Lodge attract visitors to its luxurious location near the Gisakura tea estates.
The Congo Nile Trail-hiking, biking, cycling and the caves are also experiences of interest to this particular market, as the Dutch are known for being active and adventurous travelers.
For the last seven years, the Embassy of Rwanda in the Netherlands, RDB and Rwandan tour operators have been attending and participating in this exhibition.
Rwanda is expected to present itself as a safe, clean, opportune, interesting and preferred tourist and investment destination and also benefit from the extensive Dutch media coverage.
“As we know from experience, the same week the tourism news of Rwanda will be published in daily newspapers and travel trade magazines,” said Bob Kayinamura, the First Counsellor.
At 1600hrs there will be a Rwandaful Reception at the Rwanda stand, media and travel industry members were invited.
Meanwhile, Rwandan cultural dancers performed at the official opening of the Vakantiebeurs and will continue entertaining visitors in front of the stand and on stage in hall 2.
There will also be Rwanda presentation/ film in the theatre in hall 2.
At the Rwanda stand there is a photo booth for visitors to take souvenir photos in the Rwanda landscape.
