The Rwanda Development Board’s Tourism Department has finally confirmed that the annual naming of the new born gorilla babies scheduled to take place on the 2nd of September.
Venue will as usual be the grounds outside the Volcano National Park headquarters in Kinigi of Musanze district formerly known as Ruhengeri.
The event has over the past years widened its scope to a full scale conservation week ahead of the naming ceremony, with workshops, conferences, launches of new tourism facilities, site visits and even sporting events like cycling races across the country.
A release from Rwanda Development Board (RDB) states that this year’s Kwita Izina is expected to attract guests from all over the world including policymakers, conservation partners, regional partners, tourism industry leaders, philanthropists, renowned travel bloggers and celebrities.
Participants will have an opportunity to contribute directly to conservation through a fundraising gala dinner at the Kigali Convention Center.
