Ngoma woman seeks help to have kidney transplant

Leocadie Kantengwa is appealing for help to raise Frw25 million to fly to India for kidney transplant.

A dying woman who needs to undergo kidney transplant needs assistance from kind spirited Rwandans.

Leocadie Kantengwa, a 52-year-old mother of three suffering from a kidney disease has come out to ask kind-hearted Rwandans, organisations for the sum of Frw25 million to enable her go for a kidney transplant in India.

Kantengwa is a resident of Mutendeli sector, Ngoma district have been struggling with her kidneys for the last three years.

Although she is hesitant to ask strangers for help, in the past three years it has become harder for her as her kidney function has dropped and she feels cold all of the time, she said. She is always tired.

Doctors at University Central Hospital of Kigali (CHUK) now say that the only hope for the mother of three is a kidney transplant.

“I am appealing to good Samaritans out there to help me raise this money to travel to India for a kidney transplant. I am a mother who still need a second chance to be able to take care of family”

She says that kidney transplant is the only option to save her life as it’s expected to improve her life. Kantengwa says the financial requirements for the kidney transplant include cost of airfare and accommodation for kidney transplant bills.

Her husband, Kiviri William also pleads with Rwandans to come to the aid of his ill wife.
