NEC Prepares for Results

At the NEC office in Kimihurura (Kigali), frantic efforts underway to set up the base where the results from the polls will be delivered. Early indication are that NEC chief Prof Mbanda will begin appearing on that stage (see photo) around 10pm. But latest information we are receiving is that the results could start coming as early as 10:00pm.

Across the country, vote counting at polling station was closed at 9; 00pm. What is left is computing it to come up with district, provincial and then national level.

Independent candidate and his campaign team are anxiously waiting for results. The team is at Le Capri Bar in Nyamirambo and looks more relaxed with soft and energy drinks and ready to hear the partial election results announced.

Habineza Family Waiting For Results

Green Party presidential candidate, Dr. Frank Habineza and his children and wife have arrived at Lemigo Hotel to follow presidential elections results. After a long day of media frenzy, the candidate can afford to smile.

Until the presidential election results are announced this mid-night, Rwandans across the country remain anxious but in high mood to hear the partial results.  Some say “no sleep tonight until we know our next president!!
