As the first national carrier from the United Arab Emirates-UAE to fly to Rwanda, flydubai   commits to link Rwanda’s emerging market with Dubai and the rest of the World, leading to ease costs between the two markets.

Dubai has   recently been a shopping hotspot for most Rwandan traders, a development that demanded for affordable flying fares as well as reliable and direct flights which positions   flydubai’s commitment to serve the emerging markets such as Rwanda.

“flydubai’s operation to these emerging markets will provide passengers with a reliable, direct and high-quality service,”  said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai adding that  this (the new destinations)  will  provide  to   passengers more comfortable and personalized travel experience.

We are delighted to announce the launch of three new East African destinations which also sees flydubai becomes the first national carrier from the UAE to fly to Rwanda and Burundi, underlining our commitment to opening up underserved markets.”

“We have announced 17 new destinations since the start of 2014, matching the total number of destinations flydubai launched last year. We look forward to continuing to expand our network as we remain committed to supporting Dubai’s trade and tourism sectors,” continued Al Ghaith.

To boost   its fleet of birds as well as serve better the opened new   destinations  the Airline has,  “Built up a fleet of more than 39 new aircraft and will take delivery of more than 100 aircraft by the end of 2023, all of which will be Boeing 737-800s, “ an official   statement  from  the  Airline  said.

In 2014, flydubai added six new routes to the continent with the start of flights to Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and three destinations in Tanzania and also created a network of 80 destinations, with 17 new destinations announced so far in 2014.

Moreover, the Airline  in addition  to opening the  Rwanda’s market   to the rest  of the word  is also  seen to boost the tourism sector which as been there country’s  foreign exchanger earner and mainly boosted through  the recent  Meeting, Incentives, Conferences,- MICE component

“Flydubai’s agility and flexibility as a young airline has enhanced Dubai’s economic development, in line with the Government of Dubai’s vision, by creating trade and tourism flows in previously underserved markets,” said   Hamad Obaid all a flydubai’s CCO

Ghaith says that the new routes further underline flydubai’s rapid expansion in Africa, which has seen the carrier’s network double to 12 destinations this year.

Accordingly, flydubai entered the market in 2009 with flights to Djibouti, and in 2011 Addis Ababa became flydubai’s second East African destination.But the Airline ability to link and ease flying within the region, given its expanded regional destinations flydubai has obtained the rights to carry passengers between Uganda and Burundi.
