The first Egypt & Middle East Expo organized by International exhibitors and Marketing is set to take place at Amahoro National Stadium in Remera, in Kigali this April 30th through May 11′ 2014.
Over the last four years, the Egyptians have been organizing the expo by themselves, however this time around the expo is combined with participants from the Middle East countries. In 2013, the Egyptians organized the ‘Pharo Egypt’ expo, the first of its kind.
In comparison with the ones before, ‘Pharo Egypt’ Expo was a greater successful according to the organizers. It recorded higher visitor numbers in addition to bigger sales volumes experienced by the traders.
The expo is expected to attract many Rwandans, who have over the years started picking up interest in attending and buying goods from foreign exposants. This time around Rwandans are excited because the expo has been planned at a time when residents have received their salaries.
Francine Mukamusonera, a resident of Migina cell in Remera says that “the timing is good this time around. We have been having problems with raising money in the middle of the month, thus not being able to shop freely”
This year will be a shopper’s bonus, with Egyptian made goods ranging from housewares, food products, jewelry, electronics, and handicrafts will this time be selling a reduced price of up to 50% discount on the price tags. Also shoppers will be able to win prizes each hour in a lottery.
The Egyptian Expos held in Kigali are also an outstanding sign of the good relations that exist between the two countries.
Egyptian Envoy to Rwanda, Ambassador Khaled Abdel-Salam says that the exhibition demonstrates the willingness and determination of the Egyptian companies and businessmen to foster foreign trade and explore African markets while at the same time showcasing business potentials at home,” Khaled said last year.
