Campaigning Kicks off in Rwanda for August Vote

Rwanda’s presidential campaign season opened today ahead of a vote due August 2017 as the incumbent president Paul Kagame is facing Philippe Mpayimana, an independent candidate and Frank Habineza, a flag-bearer of Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR)

Today all parties packed their bags for a very tight schedule spanning for 20 days.

President Paul Kagame launched his campaign in Munini cell in Ruhango sector of Ruhango district as the 2017 battle for votes is down to three candidates.

Rwanda Electoral Commission has urged candidates to conduct peaceful campaigns and avoid massages of hatred in the campaigns.

Eight opposition political parties that endorsed Kagame as their prefered candidate in the on-going presidential campaigns have been recognised at the campaign rally in Ruhango district;

For all these parties including; PL,PSD,PDC,PDI,UDPR,PSR,PPC and PSP president Paul Kagame is their candidate.
