The Board of directors of Bralirwa, Rwanda’s is the largest brewer and soft beverage company early this week announced Oladele Ajayi as the new Board Chairman.

Ajayi takes over from Jean – Paul van Hollebeke who has been chairman of Bralirwa Ltd for the last five years.

Van Hollebeke has served the Board and the Company both as its Chairman and as Heineken’s Managing Director in Africa, with responsibilities for Bralirwa Ltd.

Hollebeke’s reign saw him lead Bralirwa to a growth turnover from Rwf 42 billion to Rwf 77 billion in 2012 and delivered sustained levels of profitability growth.

In January 2011, Van Hollebeke led Bralirwa to a successful listing on the Rwanda Stock Exchange making Bralirwa the first domestic company to list on the Rwanda Stock Market.

Today, the company holds some of the most lavish shares on the stock market and maintains a steady growth on the trade market.

His successor, Ajayi has a wide experience in the sector. He joined the Heinken family through Nigerian Breweries in 1989 and as his career succeeded, he held senior management roles in brewing, sales, marketing and general management in Nigeria, Spain, the Netherlands and Hungary.
