Bond market records transaction of 800, 000 IFC bonds

The RSE bond market   recorded a transaction of 800,000 of International Finance Corporation (IFC) bonds at Rwf 100.5 on Tuesday

This projects a positive picture of the IFC’s first   Rwandan franc bond   that was  issued at a yield of 12.25 per cent  early this year raised the equivalent of $22m after receiving bids worth more than twice that amount.

With this bond and others that were issued by government and   oversubscribed, there is optimism that the country’s local bourse to strengthen that will attract more   issuers to tap into the    market.

While there was an outstanding bid of 500,000 bonds at Rwf 100 and no outstanding offers from government bonds FXD 3/2014/5yrs (RW000A1ZN2X8).

Meanwhile, on the stock market the RSI and ALSI remained constant closing at 229.71 and 134.07 respectively.

The trading Session on Tuesday was quiet with no transaction recorded on all the counters.

 At the ring   of closing bells, there were outstanding offers of 262,300 BK shares between Rwf 290-310 and outstanding bids of 1,600 shares between Rwf 286-289.

While on Bralirwa counter, there was an outstanding bid of 3,200 shares between Rwf 350-365 and no outstanding offers. On KCB counter there was an outstanding bid of 100 shares at Rwf 180 and no outstanding offers.

On USL counter there was an outstanding Offer of 6,000 shares at Rwf 104 and no outstanding bids. Today on RSE bond market;
