Airtel Rwanda gets New Marketing Director

In a bid to strengthen its foot print in the country’s competitive telecom sector, Airtel Rwanda has received a new marketing Director, according to the operator’s officials.

Indrajeet Kumar Singh is   seen to stir and strengthen  the  country’s  number three  operator’s   position as the most  innovative  after stirring  a stiff competition  in the sector  three years back.

“With his experience and vast knowledge in the field of marketing, Singh will definitely stir our marketing in the right direction,” said Teddy Bhullar Airtel Rwanda’s Managing Director.

Airtel that recently make free its airtel money and introduced cost friendly data packs that saw both MTN Rwandancell and Tigo Rwanda lower their rates is now looking ta targeting the rural folks.

“Despite the astounding progress of the mobile industry in recent years, the biggest impact of mobile in Rwanda is yet to come,” he further noted

This therefore according to experts will require expertise   and know how form other fast developing markets such as Kenya to boost the operator’s position.

Bhullar says the country’s telecom industry has already had a transformative effect on the social and economic development of Rwanda owed to strategic marketing tactics that deliver quality products and services

“His charisma and result oriented attitude is the best fit to drive our market growth in Rwanda,” Bhullar added

Indrajeet replaces Karanja Njoroge who successfully led Airtel Rwanda’s Marketing Department since 2013, according to the statement from the operator.

Singh who holds an MBA Degree with prior training in commerce brings with him over 12 years of wide – ranging experiences in marketing that would be vital to   swim over the competitive waters of the telecom sector.

Previously,   Singh worked with Airtel Networks Kenya as its Country Head for Usage & Revenue at for the past year and before with Essar telecom Kenya limited in Nairobi.

Singh  will have now to build on the  company’s recent successful  launch of  Airtel Zone,  free Airtel Money as well as  rural  penetration, the company  promised when it was setting its foot print in  three years ago.
